Delores Haley, a long-time resident of Swanton, Ohio, died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, Friday, April 7, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in 1930 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Harley Dick and Alice Thompson, Delores married Norman Haley, Sr. in 1950. Norman "Ace" died February 13, 1980. They had three children who survive: Kay (Bob) Wurns, Norma Jean "Jeannie" (Dennis) Wyckhouse, and Norman (Debra) Haley, Jr.
Delores worked in Wauseon for many years, where she made lifelong friendships, first at the Wauseon Manufacturing Company and then at McCord Gasket Corporation, where she worked until her retirement. During retirement, Delores loved to travel with her sisters and gambling trips with Jeannie and Dennis. She embroidered and dabbled in homemade crafts, attending local shows with the help of her grandchildren.
Delores loved family most of all, having grown up with five siblings, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy. She was predeceased by two grandsons and one granddaughter and is survived by six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Jean "Bea" Gonyer and Etta Jane "Odey" Bruckner and brother, Robert Dick. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold Dick and Elmer "Bill" Dick.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 (Noon) at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631), where funeral services will begin at 12:00 (Noon), with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Milton Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Wauseon Senior Center, Swanton Fire & Rescue, or to a charity of the donors choice.
