Angela "Angie" M. Barker

Graveside Services: Tuesday, March 21st at 3:00 pm at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Maumee

Angela “Angie” Barker, age 93, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Rosary Care Center in Sylvania. She was a daughter of Marie Klaus and Lawrence Miller. Growing up in Maumee, Ohio Angie was one of 8 children. She married Robert Barker in 1941 and spent most of her married life in Holland, Ohio. Angie worked for J. & L. Store in Holland and Joseph’s Market in Maumee for years. She was active in the Holland Fire and Police Department Auxiliary, the American Legion Post #646. As a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish she belonged to the Daughters of Mary. She loved visiting parishioners and participating in the St. Francis Guild.

In her large family she learned early from her mom to be a caregiver (sometimes to the “enth” degree). She remained that special person throughout her life caring for her husband, Bob, for several years, and always concerned about her children’s well-being. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the gems of her life. They include: Amy King and Kenny with her son, Jarod; Andrew and Laura with Ellie; Airin and Dan Gage with son, Aiden; Austin and Brittany with Addisyn and Claire, Bill Robasser, Kaylie and Ava, and Lacey (Matt) Graham with Ryan, and Jayda. Angie is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her siblings: Jim Miller, Kate (Norm) Allee, Helen (Don) Mercurio, Robert Miller, John Thomas Miller and Frank Miller.

Surviving is her brother, Phillip (Jean) Miller and her children: Sister Joy Barker, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis, Bill (Peggy) Barker and Robin (Joel) Robasser and sisters-in-law, Kate, Loretta and Karla Miller. Angie loved being in nature on the campus where she lived in Rosary Care Center. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis. Services include visitation Monday, March 20th evening from 5-8p.m. near Queen of Peace Chapel, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, OH 43560, and continuing Tuesday, March 21st from 10:00 a.m. until Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Queen of Peace Chapel.

Visitation: Monday, March 20th from 5 to 8 pm at the Queen of Peace Chapel at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Francis in Sylvania

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, March 21st at 11:30 am in the Queen of Peace Chapel
