Anthony “Tony” Raymond Herr, Sr., age 68, of Metamora, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, November 4, 2007, at Harborside in Swanton, following a battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on September 16, 1939, in Metamora, Ohio, to Ambrose and Irene (Eisel) Herr. He served in the Army Reserves. He married Linda Cunningham and she preceded him in death. On July 31, 1990, he married Carol Pifer.

Tony was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Assumption, the Catholic War Vets, and the Fulton County Farm Bureau. He was also a former member of the Wauseon Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Stephen Herr and Jeffrey (Michelle Ehrsam) Herr; daughter-in-law, Mary; grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Emily and Lilly Herr; stepchildren, Kris and Scott; and siblings Mary Ann (Carl) Pinkelman, Regina (Orville) Miller, Sylvia (Ray) Kreuz, Thomas (Lynn) Herr, Cecelia “Toots” (John) Mattimoe and Cathy Herr.

Besides his first wife, Linda, Tony was preceded in death by his parents and son, Anthony Herr, Jr.

Friends and family may visit Tuesday, November 6th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7th, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Assumption. Fr. Frederick Snyder will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Parkinson Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
