Arlene Margaret Hansen

Arlene Margaret Hansen, age 87, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, Monday morning, October 23, 2017, in her home. She was born October 18, 1930 in Curtice, Ohio to Fred and Helen (Vogtsberger) Witty. Arlene married Merlyn Hansen on October 21, 1949; he preceded her in death on April 15, 1986. Arlene starting working at the Goldfish Company, and then worked for Frisch’s Big Boy in Toledo. After working for Big Boy she then started driving school bus for the Evergreen local schools for 31 years, retiring in 1996. After retiring from driving bus she still wanted to stay active so she started working with her son doing construction.

Arlene farmed all her life. She was a very active faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Metamora, and the OPSE union.

She is survived by her children, Beverly Beaverson, and Scott (Teresa) Hansen; grandchildren, Amber (Joe) Riley, Nicole (Andrew) Parsons, Tyler (Megan) Beaverson, Josh (Courtni) Beaverson, Laura (Leland) Hays, Scott (Brandi) Hansen Jr., Kelly (Rob) Albright, Summer (Donald) Hale; great-grandchildren, Alex and Ashleigh Riley, Angeline Parsons, Logan, Amelia, and Skylar Beaverson, Brendan Woenker, Journey Beaverson, Kodi and Kali Albright, Jackie and Kyle Hale, Katelyn, Brianna, Wyatt, and Isaak Hays, Josh Fugate, Ian Hansen, Kristopher and Rylan Hansen; sisters, Sheron (John) Baumgartner, and Judy Verb-Parker.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlyn Hansen, brother, Dwight Witty, and son-in-law, Terry Beaverson.

Friends and family may visit Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27th at Faith Lutheran Church in Metamora, with Amanda Ghaffarian officiating. Interment will follow at Elliston Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church parking lot fund.
