Barbara Jean Rahe

Barbara Jean Rahe, age 76, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 9, 2023, at McLaren St. Lukes Hospital in Maumee. She was born on December 15, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Norbert Dominique and Wilma Jean (VanGlahn) Oetzel. Barbara was a graduate of Woodward High School.  

Barbara worked as a housekeeping supervisor at Elizabeth Scott Community in Maumee, Ohio.  She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish in Swanton, Ohio. She enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and golfing.  She loved all of her grandchildren.  She will be remembered by family and friends for her beautiful smile and belly laughs.   

Barbara is survived by her daughter Sarah Rahe; grandsons George IV, Alex, Daniel and Isaiah; granddaughters Nikki, Yolanda, and Kharli; 3 greatgrandchildren; sisters Georgia (William) Robedeau and Mary Jane (Donald) Bush; and many nephews and nieces.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jennifer J. Rahe and son George Thomas Rahe, III. 

Graveside committal services will be held Saturday, January 21st at 9:30 am at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Ohio, followed by a visitation at St. Richard Catholic Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, where a Memorial Mass for Barbara will begin at 11:00 am, with Fr. Eric Culler presiding.
