Barbara A. Saxer

Barbara A. Saxer, age 76, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her bedside, Sunday morning, January 3, 2016. She was born May 12, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Leslie and Angela (Langenderfer) Fauble. Barb was a 1957 graduate of Swanton High School, and was on the cheerleading squad. On October 18, 1958, she married the love of her life, Robert Saxer. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1999.

Barb was a devoted Catholic and life member of St. Richard Catholic Parish. Her life revolved around the church and her family. She served on the funeral dinner team and filled in as parish secretary as needed. She also volunteered with Hands of Grace.

Barb will be greatly missed by her son, James (Mary) Saxer, daughters, Debbie Saxer, Susan Willson, Christine (Thomas) Mossing, and Cindy (Luke) Sack; grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, Sara, Alex, Crystal, Tyler and Kaitlin; great-granddaughter, Aubrey; brother, Tommy (Kathryn) Fauble; and her sister, Jane (Clyde) Whitlatch.

Besides her husband, Robert, Barb was preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter, Tiffany Willson.

Family and friends may visit Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., and follow with a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld presiding and Deacon Jerry Ziemkiewicz assisting. Interment will follow at St. Richard's Cemetery.
