Betty Jane Grace Geer, age 83 of Swanton, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. She was born on July 7, 1924 in Hamler, Ohio to Esley and Flossie (Pacey) Bundy. Betty worked several years as a telephone operator before her children were born and was always a homemaker.

A devoted servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Betty is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert James Geer; daughters, Priscilla (David) Thomas and Melissa (Dan) Furney; grandchildren, Dan Patterson, Don Patterson, Michelle (David) Nixon, Marianne (Keith) Myers, Darrell (Beth) Patterson, Brett Thomas, Hannah Furney; great grandchildren, Kayla, Naomi, Will, and Eli Nixon, Zachary and Andrew Myers, and Tyler, Travis, Trenton, Trista and Tryna Patterson; sister Clara Imogene Geer; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Kay Patterson.

Family and friends may visit Friday, March 7, 2008 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419-826-2631). Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Brailey Union Church, 5571 County Road 3 in Swanton, with Rev. Tom Smith and Rev. James Nixon officiating. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.
