Betty Jean (Stewart) Pawlikowski

December 8, 1925 — July 17, 2016

On July 17, 2016 Betty Jean (Livensparger) (Stewart) Pawlikowski passed away in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. One of ten siblings, she was the daughter of Bessie and Orville Livensparger, born in Edon, Ohio on December 8, 1925.

Betty loved and cherished her family and friends and will be remembered as a kind woman with a very giving and caring nature. She was always looking for ways to serve others, putting family and friends above herself. She especially enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, attending family reunions, later in life regularly visiting friends who were home bound, and even traveling long distances to see great grandchildren. She was truly devoted to family and friends.

Betty enjoyed working outside the home and had two long careers, the first at Pilliod Cabinet Company in Swanton, Ohio, where she established many lifelong friendships. The other, Bettinger Farms, in Swanton where her love of flowers and nature was the perfect environment for her. She held dear her friendships with those with whom she worked, like Marie and Debbie Bettinger and was still working and enjoying it at age 89. Betty was also a creature of habit and devoted to her friends as evidenced by the decades of regular Friday morning gatherings with the ladies and her good friend Shirley Gigax when she got her hair done.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband of 26 years John Stewart, her second husband of 39 years Paul Pawlikowski, daughter Kristy (Stewart) Rowland, her parents, and brothers Marion, Orville Jr., Gerald, Richard Dale and James Livensparger. She is survived by her children Scott (Rita) Stewart, Jayne (Gary) Treater, Dale (Becky) Stewart, step-daughters Jessica (Mike) Mettler and Juliet Oppenlander, sister Helen (Orren) Van Zile, sister-in law Sharon Livensparger, brothers Robert (Mary), Marlin (Karol) and Stuart (DeAnn) Livensparger, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, and many special friends.

Family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut Street in Swanton (419.826.2631), where a service celebrating Betty's life will begin at 11:00 a.m.

The family would like to thank the kind and loving staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and in lieu of flowers would ask that you consider a donation to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
