Carl H. Pinkelman

November 12, 1927 — December 28, 2016

Carl H. Pinkelman, age 89, life-long resident of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, December 28, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born November 12, 1927 in Swanton to Anthony and Bertha (Lemley) Pinkelman. Carl graduated from Swanton High School in 1945 and following graduation enlisted in the United States Army. He served during WWII in the South Pacific. On March 31, 1951, he married his beloved wife, Mary Ann Herr.

Carl worked for General Motors and worked the family farm. He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and Catholic War Veterans #306 in Assumption.

Carl will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann; children Charles A. (Theresa) Pinkelman, Roger W. (Becky) Pinkelman, Edward James (Theresa) Pinkelman, Janice M. (David) Bartos, David A. (Cynthia) Pinkelman, Carl T. (Tracey) Pinkelman, and Carol A. (Jeffry) Langenderfer; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita Perse, and Armella (Dave) Heck.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Decon Pinkelman; brother, Jim Pinkelman; sisters, Mary Catherine Lumbreezer, Frances Ford, Hilda Hopps.

Family and friends may visit Friday, December 30th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Vigil service will begin at 7:00. Visitation will continue Saturday, December 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00. Father Michael Dandurand will preside. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Visitation: Friday, December 30th from 2 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora

Mass of Resurrection: Saturday, December 31st at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption

Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery
