Carol J. Vaughan

August 13, 1932 — June 10, 2017

Carol J. Vaughan, age 84, of Delta, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, surrounded by her family, at The Heritage Manor in Findlay, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 13, 1932. Daughter of the late Norman “Ted” and Mary “Bea” (Murphy) Fox. She married Archie Vaughan in 1951 and he passed away December of 1963. Carol was also preceded in death by her significant other, Nick Mossing, in 1997.

Carol attended Monclova School and lived on Garden Road from childhood until the 90’s, and in Delta thereafter.

Carol was co-owner and worked at the Kold-Keg from 1963-1973. She also worked at the VFW Post #3013 on Eber Road, Swanton American Legion Post #479, and was a longtime member of the Delta Eagles Lodge #2597.

Carol loved to mushroom hunt, she played on softball leagues and loved to play euchre. She was well remembered for her big family Christmas get togethers. Carol was a people person and made friends wherever she went.

Carol is survived by her sister, Mary Fox Kusz; son, Norman “Took” (Pat) Vaughan; daughters, Kathleen “Kathy” (Greg) Woods and Pam (Roger) Hight; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; along with many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the late William Vaughan and his family for helping keep the family together and looking after Carol’s needs.

Family and friends will be received at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton on Friday, June 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 (Noon), where services will begin at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) led by the Delta Eagles. Interment will follow at Fulton Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation: Friday, June 16th from 10 am to 12 (Noon) at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton

Services: Friday, June 16th at 12:00 (Noon) in the Funeral Home

Interment: Fulton Union Cemetery
