Carole Ann Ragan

Carole A. Ragan of Swanton, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Otterbein Sunset House, Toledo, OH. She was born in 1941, in Johnstown, PA, to Francis W. and Margaret (McCabe) Bansky.

Carole was a 1959 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. Carole went on to pursue her dream of Nursing at Mercy School of Nursing, Johnstown, PA. She continued her education with BSN at University of Toledo and MSN at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. She was a well respected professional. She met John Ragan in Johnstown, PA in 1959. They married in Toledo, Ohio in 1962.

Carole was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, and teacher. She loved expressing her creativity in her many arts and crafts. She was an exceptionally bright and caring woman. She will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack Ragan; children, Laura (Jeff) Markley, Kelly Ragan, John (Katie) Ragan, Deirdre Perlini and Luke (Rachelle) Ragan; grandchildren, Zachary (Sarah) Markley, Emma Markley, Lillian Markley, Liam Stacey, Luca Stacey, Sean Ragan, Matthew Ragan, Sophia Perlini, Dylan Perlini, Cole Ragan and Kelsey Ragan; ; brother, Francis “Frank” Bansky; sisters, Marjorie “Marg” Colson, Aleta Beam and Bonita “Bonnie” Donovan.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents.

"I am proud of everyone in our family. I want you to know that each of you are special, each of you are wonderful, and I have been proud of all of you... Love to ALL, Carole, Mom, Mammo."

A Celebration of Carole’s life will be planned at a later date.
