Charlene Sindel

Charlene Sindel, age 86, passed away Saturday November 11, 2017 at Quincy Cottage in Quincy, MI where she had been a resident for over three years. Charlene was born November 25,1930 in Fulton County, Ohio the daughter of the late Armond and Helen Ulrich. On January 8, 1950, she married Raymond Sindel and their union lasted for 64 years until his death on April 24,2014.

Charlene and Raymond had three children, Roxanne, Cheryl, and Kevin. Charlene had worked during her lifetime in a secretary pool, as a waitress, but mostly as a homemaker. She was incredible good at keeping the family finances in order and was willing to help out family members in financial difficulties when needed. Charlene and Raymond were both active members at the Elks Lodge, and long time members of the Delta United Methodist Church. Charlene and Raymond were members of RCI and VRBO where they would take long trips with their friends across the country and internationally. She loved traveling and keeping track of those trips with her many pictures and souvenirs for her children and grandchildren. Charlene and Raymond also loved hosting holiday and special gatherings at their home in Delta, OH. Charlene was an avid reader up until her Alzheimer's disease made it impossible for her to do so anymore. She also loved to play card games especially Bridge with her close group of friends. Scrabble was also a favorite game of Charlene's and she was quite the competitor with her Webster's Dictionary at close hand to challenge her opponents.

Surviving are her daughter Cheryl (Mike)Yeager; foster son David (Staci) Yeager; son-in-law; Jim Demaline; five grandchildren; Nicole Starkey (Olmstead, Ward), Michelle (Yeager) Yarnell, Jason Yeager, Judd (Jessa) Demaline, Alex Yeager; three foster grandchildren Marc (Jason Robinson)Yeager, Bart (Erin) Yeager, and Lindsay Yeager; eight great grandchildren Tristen and Aislynn Ward, Rex Starkey, Desmond, Sonya (Jorden) Conners, Austin, and Raven Yarnell., and Scarlett Demaline, and one foster great grandchild Bryce Yeager; brothers Rex (Joyce) Ulrich and Paul (Jo Ann) Ulrich: and sister-in-law Phyllis (Max) Ulrich, and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents were: her husband, Raymond; son, Kevin; daughter, Roxanne (Jim) Demaline; brother, Max Ulrich; parent in laws, Walter Sindel, Elizabeth Sindel, and stepmother Marge (Dennis) Sindel; sister-in-laws, Jean Neff and Jan Nitzberg; brothers-in-law Edward Neff and Raymon Nitzberg; grandchild, Alisha Demaline; and many beloved friends.

A memorial service has been planned for Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Grisier~Weigel Funeral Home, 400 W. Main Street Delta, OH 43515 12pm-3pm visitation, funeral service at 3pm with interment immediately following at Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to the Delta Public Library, Quincy Cottage, or Hospice.
