Charles "Steve" Copeland

Charles S. "Steve" Copeland, Sr., age 62 of Delta, Ohio, entered into Heaven Thursday afternoon, July 20, 2017. He passed away peacefully in his loving wife's arms at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania of cancer. Steve was born in Marion, Ohio on June 14, 1955 to William Howard and Anna Mae (Baker) Copeland.

Steve worked maintenance for 13 years at GB Manufacturing in Delta, Ohio, where he met his wife Terrie. They were together for 12 years and married 8 years. Steve loved gardening, tending to his flower beds and most of all enjoyed life to the fullest spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of the Swanton Nazarene Church and was a born again Christian.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie; son, Charles Steven Copeland, Jr.; grandson, Zac Copeland; daughter, Shirley Copeland-Gillingham (Mark, Sr.); grandson, Mark "Marky" Gillingham, Jr.; stepson, Kyle James Ketring (Yasmin Dwyer); stepdaughter, Samantha Marie Ketring; brothers, William Ronald Copeland of Pacific, MO, James Larry (Betty) Copeland; sister, Wanda Faye Copeland-Tobin (William); as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Jessika Maree Gillingham.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631), where visitation will be held one hour prior. Reverend Harold Ratliff will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
