Charles M. Hazlett

Charles M. Hazlett, age 81, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Monday morning April 3, 2023, at McLaren St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was born November 18, 1941 to James and Naomi (Mullins) Hazlett.  On July 13, 1962, he married his beloved wife, Carol Hogrefe.

Charlie worked for DeVilbiss Manufacturing in Toledo and was a Toledo Blade newspaper carrier route driver. Back in the days, Charlie worked as a bartender for K of C Lanes in Swanton and Mo and Joes.  He was a car enthusiast and a member of the Pharaoh’s Car Club.  Charlie loved going to auctions and car shows throughout Northwest Ohio. He loved bowling and playing bingo,  but most of all cherished time spent with his family.

Charlie will be remembered as a very generous family man, and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol; children, Jim (Linda) Chambers, LeAnn K. Hazlett and Jerry Hazlett; grandchildren, Meaghan Chambers, Courtney (Craig) Henman and Aaron Hazlett; great-grandson, Barrett Henman; sister, Linda Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James Hazlett and Naomi Johnson; grandson, Coty Pinter; brothers, Pete Johnson, Dave Baer, Sam Hazlett, Tom Hazlett, Bob Johnson and Donald Hazlett.

Private graveside services will be held at Swanton Cemetery.
