Christopher Sominski

Christopher L. Sominski, age 63, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, Friday morning, November 16, 2018, while at work in Novi, Michigan.  He was born August 19, 1955 in Toledo, Ohio to Bernard and Shirley Sominski.  He was a 1973 graduate of Metamora High School and RETS Electrician School.  Chris worked as a service installer and trouble-shooter for CSC Service Works in Novi, Michigan.

Chris was a member of Metamora United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed watching Little League Baseball, and his grandson is following his footsteps with his love for the game.  Chris loved his music and was a drummer in The Sound Garden Band.  He was an avid golfer who loved the outdoors and entertaining family and friends and having company over.  No one would leave his house hungry or thirsty.

Chris loved being a Papa and will be greatly missed by his children, Ashley (John) Bussdieker, Nicole (Edward) Jensen, Kasey Sominski and Emily Sominski; grandchildren, Stella and Leo Bussdieker and Noah, Kinley, Layla Jensen; and his parents, Bernie and Shirley Sominski.

Visitation will be held at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St., Metamora, Ohio (419.644.3601) on Tuesday, November 20th from 2 to 8 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tyler Kleeberger officiating.  Interment will be held at a later date at Amboy Township Cemetery.

Guestbook

Bernie, Shirley, All of Chris's girls and grandkids....what a tremendous, heart wrenching loss. Our heartfelt sympathy and shared tears are with you.

For Sal, Ron and I, we were so fortunate to have Chris put the beat in our band over many years. He was such a talented drummer and we played together from the time he was just a teenager. When you're in a band for so many years you become a special family and Chris brought great joy and fun all those weekends traveling around Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan to literally hundreds of wedding receptions and parties.

My brother Ron and Chris were especially close, razzing one another continuously and having a great time doing it. So I know that when he saw Chris into that great beyond he gave Chris some choice words... with a smile, then a laugh and a hug. Gone too soon. Loved and missed forever.

Nothing can prepare us for loss. Gods word the Bible gives us comfort, it provides hope. There is going to be a resurrection. (Acts 24:15) God will restore life to those who have died, and they will have the prospect of living forever in paradise on earth. This is a promise from God, which we can have confidence in because he cannot lie. (Titus 1:2) May this hope comfort your greiving hearts. I am sorry for your loss.
