Clarence H. Zeigler

Clarence H. Zeigler, age 86, life long resident of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, May 16, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in the family homestead, where he lived his entire life, on June 12, 1928 to Oma and Azella (Coon) Zeigler. Clarence was a 1946 graduate of Swanton High School. On August 21, 1964, he married his beloved wife, Marie McLouth.

Clarence was a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Swanton. He was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge #349 and the Knights of Pythias Swanton Lodge #588, where he served as Past Master. He was also a member of the the Zenobia Shriners, Scottish Rites, Mariners and Northwest Shrine.

Clarence was a dairy farmer and member of the Lucas County Farm Bureau. When he retired from dairy farming, he worked as a dairy inspector.

Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie; sons, Micheal and Steven Zeigler; daughter, Cheri (Jeff) McFarland; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert O. Zeigler; sister-in-law, Mary Hartung; and many nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathryn; brother, Gene; sister-in-law, Helen; and mother of his children, JoAnn.

Family and friends may visit Monday, May 18th, from 12:00 (Noon) to 2:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631), where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor J.T. Bean officiating. Interment will follow at Sharples Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Trinity United Methodist Church.

Funeral Service: Monday, May 18th at 2:00 pm in the Funeral Home

Interment: Sharples Cemetery
