Clyde Elgin Thompson, age 93, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into Heaven, Thursday evening, March 31, 2022, at Grand Rapids Care Center. He was born March 13,1929, in Bowling Green, Ohio to Clyde Ellsworth and Alice Irene (Myles) Thompson. He married the love of his life, Virginia Mae Frosch, on September 27,1947. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2006.
Clyde was a factory worker for the Jeep Corporation, retiring on February 29, 1988. Clyde was a member of the Wilkins United Methodist Church and looked forward to attending Sunday services. He was a very talented woodworker and carver. Clyde had an aptitude for sleigh rebuilding and was also a glass collector.
Clyde will be waiting for his children, Karl and
Cherreen; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Clyde went to be with his beloved wife, Virginia; daughter, TyLynn Renee; sons, Ross and Wayne Thompson and granddaughter, Josette in Heaven.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 5th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Wilkins United Methodist Church, where visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.
