David M. Mossing, a very kind and generous man, age 65, of Assumption, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in his home. He was born November 23, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, to Edith (David) and Menard Mossing. He graduated from Evergreen High School and attended Four County. Dave was a master carpenter and member of Local Union 351. He was quick to volunteer his time and talents helping others on a renovation or new building project.
A devout Catholic, Dave was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also very involved with the Sylvania Moose Lodge #1579.
Dave lived for the game of golf and Michigan Football. He was on a golf league and looked forward to his annual golf trip with his buddies to Michigan and Florida. He was also an avid collector of wood carvings and elaborate wooden puzzles.
Dave is survived by his sisters, Janine Moon and Elaine (Philip) Terman; his brother, Denver (Sally) Mossing; his beloved nieces and nephews, Lara Moon, Benjamin (Abby) Mossing, Rachelle (Brian) Panoff, and Denver Mossing, Jr.; great-nieces, Camille and Annabelle; and many friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Menard and Edith Mossing.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 14th from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora (419.644.3601), where a Vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, with Fr. Michael Dandurand presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
