David Kelly Stambaugh

David K. Stambaugh, age 62, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Maumee, Ohio. David was born on May 20, 1959, in Lima, Ohio to Von and Leoma (Klinger) Stambaugh. After graduating from Bowsher High School in 1978, David joined the Marine Corps. On May 17, 1985, he married the love of his life, Carol Rogier. David worked as a driver for a waste management company for many years before retiring in May 2021.

David enjoyed so many different aspects of life. Everything from watching his favorite football teams, the Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeyes, to taking a peaceful walk through Oak Openings with his dogs. Most of all he looked forward to spending time with his family. Bringing donuts to the kids every Thursday morning after he retired. David found joy in attending Church on Strayer and knowing the comfort he went to be with Jesus.

Left to cherish David’s memory are his belove wife, Carol; his father, Von Stambaugh; sisters, Laura (Dan) Caywood, Sandra (Jim) Worley and Julia (Jim) Stokes. The extended family on Carol’s side just thought the world of Dave.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Leoma Faith Stambaugh.

Visitation will be held at Church on Strayer in Maumee, Ohio, on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tony Scott officiating.

Guestbook

My condolences to Carol and the family. I am so sorry that I just learned today, Christmas day, that my friend Dave had passed away, how sad. Dave worked for me in security at the Lion Stores before Dillard's purchased the company.

Dave was such a reliable and good employee and such a kind man. I admired Dave for many of his attributes but one stuck out above the others. He loved his wife Carol and family above and beyond anything else, something that all of us should remember. He was too young to leave this world, but God has his reasons.

Rest in peace my friend,
