Donald "Mike" Harrison

Donald “Mike” Harrison, age 68, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center.  He was born August 28, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio to Annabelle (Borck) and Donald Harrison.  He married Ruth Grime on October 4, 1975.

Mike worked as an auto mechanic.  He was an adrenaline junkie who loved drag racing and snowmobiling.  He took pride in restoring his 1965 Pontiac GTO.  He and his wife loved camping and traveling out west, but most of all, loved spending time with his grandkids.

Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruth; father, Donald (Lula Mae) Harrison; sons, Charles (Sharlyn) Lulfs and Marshall (Michelle) Lulfs; his niece and nephew whom he helped raise, Brandy and Tom Noll; 5 granddaughters, Calla (Max) Pennington, Alesha (Moe) Babcock, Aleanee (Derek) Eitniear, Anna (Brandon) Rohda and Tara (Travis) Schroeder, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Warren, Nancy (Sam) Gordon, Patty (John) Stall; brother, Tim (Leann) McCarty; as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. 

Mike was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Jimmy Harrison.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 5th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton.  Visitation will continue Friday, April 6th from 10 – 11 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Edward Strietelmeier officiating.  Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, Huntington’s Disease Research or Swanton Health Care Activities Fund.
