Swanton, Ohio

Donna J. (Rupp) Bridges, age 83, of Swanton, Ohio, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully Friday, January 31, 2025 with Daughter Vickie by her side, under hospice care at the Embassy of Swanton. She had been in declining health due to COPD.

Donna was born on May 11, 1941, in York Township to Willis and Dorothy (Coutcher) Rupp, Donna was a proud graduate of Anthony Wayne High School, Class of 1957. She later earned her nursing degree from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. Her 35-year career as a registered nurse at The Toledo Hospital was not just a job to her; it was her calling. Donna took great pride in her work and dedicated her life to caring for others.

Donna shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband of 49 years, Tommy. Together, they created countless cherished memories, such as attending the Fulton County Fair, family vacations, enjoying square dancing, walking in the parks, and a friendly game of cards—a passion that brought them joy and togetherness.

Throughout her life, Donna engaged in various hobbies and interests that showcased her nurturing spirit. She loved tending to her yard, gardening, crafting, and playing a variety of games with family. Her culinary talents shone through in her cooking, particularly her famous chocolate chip pound cake and potato salad, a family favorite that delighted everyone.

Left to cherish her memory are Daughters Vickie and Peggy Annesser, grandson Zachary Bailey and Brayden Bridges. Sisters Kay Bennett and Sandra Brundage and Brother Ronald Rupp. Stepson Tommy (Rita) Bridges, grandchildren TJ, Mike, Alex, great-grandmother to Eleanor and Vivian Bridges. Sister-in-law Elizabeth (John) Michalak; and a wide circle of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Parents Willis and Dorothy (Coutcher) Rupp, Son William Bridges and grandson Tyler Bridges. 

Donna will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the care she extended to all around her. Her life was a testament to love and dedication, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Donna will be laid to rest next to her husband, Tommy, at Whitehouse Cemetery. Per Donna's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Graveside services will be private.
