Doris Elaine Currier, age 86, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 16, 2025.
Born on January 5, 1939, in Monclova, Ohio, Doris was welcomed into the world at home by her parents, Daisy Mae and Herman Grossheim. She dedicated her life to serving others, working as a nurse until her retirement. A woman of steadfast faith, Doris was a devoted member of Brailey Union Church, where she worshiped and found joy in community.
Doris was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched both in her professional care and in her personal warmth. She was a sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose strength and love shaped generations.
She is survived by her siblings Pam Kohlenberg, Kim Grossheim, and Erma Bauer; her children Larry Michael Currier and Shannon Elaine Currier-Babcock; her grandchildren Aaryn Currier, Andy Hauenstein, Lucas Babcock, Megan Morris (Babcock), Cody Currier, and Jacob Babcock; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Linda Behnfeldt.
A burial and graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Swan Creek Cemetery, located at 6860 US- 20A in Monclova, Ohio. Following the burial service, family and friends are invited to a meal and celebration of life at The Whitehouse Inn, 10835 Waterville St, Whitehouse, Ohio 43571.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brailey Union Church, 5571 Co. Rd. 3, Swanton, Ohio 43558, in honor of Doris’s life of service and faith.
