Eugene Gombash, Sr. age 90, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal life early Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017 at Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center. He was born December 3, 1926 in Ai, Ohio to the late Julius and Mary Gombash. On October 22, 1955 he married Lois Sherman.
Gene was a life-long farmer and was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau and life-member of the Swanton Elks Lodge. He served as a Township Trustee for Fulton Township for 12 years and loved to play Bingo.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lois; children, Mary (Bud Crosby) Gombash, William "Willie" (Polly) Gombash, John Gombash, Eugene "Dino" (Laurie) Gombash, Jr. and Joe (Ann) Gombash; and 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Amelia Hartbarger and Dolores Cluckey.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James, Joe and Julius Gombash.
Family and friends may visit Sunday, November 26th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Father Adam Hertzfeld presiding. Interment will follow at St. Richard's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center.
