Gary Michael Simmons, age 53, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening, December 17, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born on December 23, 1954, in Lima, Ohio, to Paul and Bessie (Ullman) Simmons. He graduated from Four County Vocational School in 1972.

Gary was a free spirit and loved riding his motorcycle. He was self-employed and was an excellent auto body repairman.

He is survived by his son, Aaron (Fiancee, Sascha Ehret) Simmons; mother, Bessie; sisters, Kay (Rick) Colburn and Barb Simmons; and brother, Paul Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul, and sister, Mary Ellen Simmons.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Timbers Edge Condominiums Clubhouse on King Road between Bancroft and Central Ave. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
