Harold "Mike" Michael Maier

Harold Michael "Mike" Maier, age 59, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at the University of Toledo Medical Center, following a recent heart attack.  He was born July 23, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio the only child to Harold Frederick and Dorothy (Barrie) Maier.  Mike graduated from the University of Toledo with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. 

He absolutely loved his job working in the garden center at Menard's in Spring Meadows.  He was known as having a green thumb and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.  Come holiday season, he loved cooking and baking fudge, buckeyes, pickles and other special holiday treats. He also enjoyed photography - taking pictures and sharing the memories with family and friends. Most of all, Mike cherished time spent with his adorable grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Samantha (Derek) Harrison, Allison (Corey) Harder, Emily (Charley) McCaw and Janet (Brian) McAlear; his grandchildren, Jensen, Brynlee, Micah, Jude and Amelia; and the mother of his four beautiful daughters, Karen L. Maier.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Harold Frederick Maier; mother, Dorothy and stepfather, Urban Gladieux.

The family is grateful to the doctors and nurses at UT Medical Center for their compassionate care.

A service honoring Mike's life will be held Monday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park - Mausoleum Chapel.

A luncheon will follow at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Oak Harbor.
