Henry C. Wolf

Henry C. Wolf, age 68, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born June 6, 1947 in New York City to Henry J. and Florence (Lubeck) Wolf. As a small child, his family moved to Long Island New York where he played football, basketball and baseball for Plainedge High School.

In 1965, Henry came to Ohio to attend the University of Toledo, where he met and married his wife of 44 years, Linda Kibler. While at UT, he played Club Volleyball and was manager of the Men's Basketball team for the 1967-68 season.

After graduation, he held several jobs, finally retiring from the United States Postal Service as Supervisor after 30 years of service. Henry also officiated High School baseball, softball, basketball and volleyball over a period of 38 years. Henry was a lifelong fan of the Brooklyn - Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and also the Lady Rockets basketball team. Henry's memberships included The University of Toledo Women's Basketball Fan Club-The Igniters, Valleywood Golf Club, Swanton Athletic Boosters, Swanton Elks and Swanton Jaycees.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife, Linda; son, Jeremy Wolf; daughter, Lori (Emery) Baker; grandchildren, Kendall Wolf, Hannah Baker and Colton Baker; brother, Richard (Barbara) Wolf; and nieces and nephews, Tammy (Bill) Hammond, Dan Wolf, Jamie (Jarod) Venzian and Shawn (Jen) Miller.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Visitation will continue Thursday, November 19th from 12 (Noon) to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home, where services will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Henry has requested memorial contributions be made to The Toledo Humane Society or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
