James Russell Hudik

James R. Hudik, age 67, of Lyons, Ohio, died Sunday morning, February 20, 2022, at his residence, with his loving family at his bedside. James was born June 19, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to Cyril J. and Eileen F. (Loeffler) Hudik. He was a 1972 graduate of Evergreen High School, and on November 7, 1980 he married the love of his life Margaret (Peggy) O'Neil.

James was co-owner of Hudik Brothers Dry Wall prior to his retirement in 2018. He was a lifetime member of the BPOE Elks Club. Jim enjoyed traveling to beautiful places like Alaska and Hawaii, and especially the motorcycle trips he and Peggy would take together. He attended many NSRA & Goodguys cars shows, as well as motorcycle trips with the Rattlers. Jim was proud of the fact that he dipped his tire in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He went on numerous cruises with family & friends. Jim looked forward to wintering in Florida and spending summers at Devil's Lake. He was also an avid golfer. Jim's motto was "to not wait until retirement to travel & do all the things you want to do. Do it when youre young & healthy so you can enjoy it, because some people never get the chance if they wait."

James is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Peggy; sons, Clint (Jesica Gustafson) Hudik, Adam (Brooke) Hudik and Brent (Morgan) Hudik; mother, Eileen Hudik; brothers, Ron Hudik, Kenny (Debbie) Hudik, Donald (Cindy) Hudik and Scott (Amy) Hudik; sisters, Janet (Brian) Burnor, Marilyn O'Connor, Annette Hudik, Sharon Chayer and Sandy (Jamie) Thrailkill; grandchildren, Aiden, Jack, Brenden, Braxten, Brynn, Carsen, Paris and Coil; numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and infant sister Carol Hudik.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 26th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2639 US-20 in Assumption, Ohio.
