James Franklin Stanfill

James F. Stanfill, age 75, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his residence. James was born December 23, 1946 in Jellico, Tennessee to Paul F. and Wilma J. (Williams) Stanfill. He was a 1965 graduate of Rogers High School, and on April 1, 1967 he married the love of his life, Suzanne (Czlapinski) Stanfill. After high school he joined the Army. James was a member of Bricklayers local 3 in Toledo. He worked for Scholz Homes, AC&S and Northern Refractory during his career. 

James was proud that he built his own home in 1996. He enjoyed riding his harley, hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman. He looked forward to gardening with his wife, Sue. Most of all, he loved hanging out with his grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sue Stanfill; daughters, Wendy (Brian) Isbell, Samantha (Danial) Urban; son, Jim (Nicki) Stanfill, Jr.; brothers, Tony Stanfill, Dennis, Todd and Brian Barshaw; sister, Teri Carpenter; brother-in -law, Clem (Darlene) Pinski; grandchildren, Raymond (Heidi), Tyler (Bekah), Nicholas, Callie, Bella, Sloan and Baby #3; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends, as well as his yellow lab, Sammy.

Visitation for James will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, June 3rd, at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will follow at 6:00pm in the funeral home with Pastor Donna Stutzman presiding followed by Military Honors.
