Jonnie L. Roschmann

Jonnie Lew Roschmann, age 85, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, May 17, 2025. She was born July 25, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio to Louis and Jonnie (Womack) Haupricht. 

Jonnie worked at Oak Openings Carry-Out for over 40 years, where her grandchildren gave her the nickname “Grandma Soupy." After retirement, Jonnie enjoyed visiting the Swanton Senior Center, Swanton VFW Post 8598, and Swanton American Legion Post 479 for Bingo and other activities with friends. She also loved working as a hostess at Loma Linda’s Restaurant. “Soupy” cherished watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, socializing and camping with family. She was a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan. 

Jonnie is survived by her children, Debbie (Chris) Taylor, Cindy Toland, Benny (Trina) Roschmann, Jill (Jason) Hart and Jack (Denise) Roschmann; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. 

Jonnie was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Christain; grandson, Joshua Hart; and daughter-in-law, Wendy Roschmann. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025,from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Interment services at the Springfield Township Cemetery will be private. 

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
