Joseph F. Lumbrezer, age 85, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Saturday morning, November 17, 2007 at Harborside in Swanton. He was born December 25, 1921 in Swanton, Ohio to Clarence and Martha (Hassen) Lumbrezer. He married Charlotte Martha Ames on April 3, 1948.

Joe was a lifetime farmer and member of the Farm Bureau. He was a faithful member of St. Richard Catholic Parish, where he served on parish council and as usher.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Charlotte, son, Denis (Pam) Lumbrezer of Lima, OH and daughter, Elaine (Thomas) Pickerel of Genoa, OH; grandchildren, Kevin Pickerel, Todd (Stephanie) Pickerel, Kelly (Zach) Stamp, Craig (Emily) Pickerel, Ryan, Staci and LeAnna Pickerel and great-granddaughter, Alexis Pickerel. Also surviving are his brothers, Mel (Mary) Lumbrezer, Tom (Marge) Lumbrezer and sister, Irene Warniment.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sylvester “Jack” Lumbrezer.

Friends and family may visit Sunday, November 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, November 19th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419-826-2631), where a Scripture service will be held Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. Joe’s body will lie in state at St. Richard Catholic Church, Tuesday morning, November 20th, one half hour prior to the Mass. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 333 Brookside Dr. in Swanton. Fr. Daniel Zak and Rev. Brian Haller will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard Church.
