Joseph P. Tippie, age 60, of Metamora, Ohio passed away unexpectedly in his sleep, Monday, May 18, 2020. He was born on February 23, 1960 in Taylorville, Illinois to Walston and Thayas (Stricklin) Tippie. Joe worked for Randy Mastin Septic Service in Whitehouse, Ohio.
Joe was an amazing handyman and a jack-of-all-trades. He had a special talent when it came to fixing things, a trait he learned from his father. He was multitalented in many areas from mechanical work and restoring cars, to electrical and plumbing issues. But his knowledge exceeded beyond that. He took pride in having the ability to help his family and friends out with many projects. Joe had a passion for restoring and rebuilding old cars and motorcycles, anything with an engine. He had an eye for mixing and blending his own paint colors for his restoration projects. This made his projects especially unique. Joe was a proud father of his three children Jacob, Justin and Amber. He was always there for them no matter the time of day. He had a fondness for animals and a special bond with all of his granddogs. When he wasn’t helping a friend or family member he spent his free time at the drag strip. He loved racing his drag car, a 1979 Mercury Bobcat. Joe was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Joe’s memory are his sons, Jacob (Allison) Tippie and Justin (Jenna) Tippie; daughter, Amber (Chris Benson) Tippie; brothers Terry ( Phyl) Tippie, Larry (Michelle) Tippie, Dennis (Julie) Tippie, Gary (Pam) Tippie; mother of his children, Donna Krajicek and 10 granddogs, Miya, Keira, Darius, Maverick, Loki, Lankly, King, Chief, Chloe and Hank.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Walston and Thayas Tippie.
Services for Joe will be held at a later date. Arrangments by Weigel Funeral Home (419.644.3601).
