Joyce M. Thomas

Joyce M. Thomas, age 90, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, August 30th, 2022, at Kingston Residence of Sylvania. She was born September 22nd, 1931 in Whitehouse, Ohio to Melvin and Helen (Stover) Bucher.

Family meant everything to Joyce. She adored her 3 daughters, their husbands, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She was always ready for a day trip to Shipshewana, Frankenmuth, or the lake. Joyce made holidays special with her superb cooking and love of gift giving. She also loved baking and decorating cakes for family birthdays and weddings. She enjoyed line dancing and volunteering at the Stranahan Theater.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Gary) Langenderfer, Shirley (Todd) Heimrich, and Connie (Philip) Leidigh; grandchildren, Lindsay Konopka, Jeff Heimrich, Claire Leidigh, Tiffany and Troy Gype, Tyson and Trisha Langenderfer, Tatum and Chad Penrod; great-grandchildren, Brady, Tyler, and Emma Konopka, Brooks and Ben Gype, Tripp, Vaughn, and Cy Langenderfer, and Karli and Connar Penrod.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Haldene Bucher.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Services on Friday will be for the immediate family.

The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to Ohio Living Hospice and Kingston for their care and kindness during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks or Ohio Living Hospice.
