June King

June V. King, age 90, of Swanton, Ohio, entered peacefully into eternal life, Thursday morning, February 15, 2018, at Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center.  She was born May 17, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Minnie (Buckenmeyer) and Omer Langenderfer.  June graduated from Metamora High School Class of 1945, and married James King.  They later divorced.

June worked at Jeep for 23 years and was a member of UAW Local 12. She loved spending time with her friends, family, pets and traveling with her friends around the world. June was a devout Catholic and volunteered at Immaculate Conception Marygrove on Raab Road, where she was a lifelong parishioner and member of the Rosary & Altar Society. She was also a member of Gleaners, the Red Hat Society and Catholic War Veterans Post #306 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was a friend to all and always had a smile for everyone and loved cheering them up, even if you were just a passerby. She will be greatly missed by her children, Karen (Allen) Johnson, Brenda Pieratt, Marcia (Phil) King-Blandford, Cindy (Tony) DeVuono, Kevin, and Brian (Jeri); siblings, Jean Simon, Kenny (Sally) Langenderfer, Kitty (Robert) Donahue and Elaine Langenderfer; sisters-in-law, Nelda Langenderfer and Joan Langenderfer; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Cliff and Harold Langenderfer; son-in-law, Larry Pieratt and great-grandson, Landon Pieratt.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, February 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora (419.644.3601), where the Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m.  A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19th at Holy Trinity (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church at Marygrove, 1750 N. Raab Road, with Father Michael Dandurand presiding.  Interment will follow at Marygrove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
