Larry "Mike" Currier

Larry “Mike” Currier, age 69, of Swanton, passed away suddenly on May 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and cherished traditions.

Born on February 17, 1957, Mike was a man of few words, but he possessed a remarkably big heart. He found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful things in life: the quiet of the outdoors, the camaraderie of lifelong friends, and a deep, unwavering love for his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Doris and Larry Currier.

Mike is survived by his children, Aaryn Currier and Cody (Megan) Currier, and his sister, Sam Currier-Babcock. He was a fiercely proud and deeply loving grandfather to Hannah (Will) Tressler, Noah Sherman, Adalyn Currier, and Colton Currier, and a doting great-grandfather to Evelynn Townes and Kayden Miller.

An avid outdoorsman, Mike was truly in his element when hunting with his son and his closest friends or heading out on his next fishing trip. He also shared a quiet connection with nature through his hobby of beekeeping. Mike’s kindness extended to all living things; over the years, he opened his heart to many rescue animals, holding an especially tender spot for his beloved rescue cats.

He was incredibly fortunate to belong to a rare, tightly knit group of friends that stood the test of time, sharing decades of laughter and memories with Mark and Carol Dopp, Tom, and Dave.

Mike was a dedicated Tool and Die maker for close to 45 years, retiring after many years of loyal service at Bunting Bearings. But beyond his work ethic, Mike will be remembered most for his thoughtful and deeply sentimental soul. He never missed a family birthday, always making sure a homemade cake was baked and the absolute perfect card was chosen for the occasion. Those intentional, loving gestures are the memories his family will treasure forever.

He will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing his quiet dependability, his gentle spirit, and his fierce dedication to those he loved.

A memorial service will be held at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton on Tuesday, May 26th, at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00PM
