Lois J. Bettinger

Lois J. Bettinger, age 88, of Berkey, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at her winter home in Sarasota, Florida, Saturday, March 26, 2016. She was born December 17, 1927 in Port Clinton, Ohio to Rollin E. and Jesse Amelia (Warncke) Bergman. Lois married Karl Bettinger on November 11, 1950, who preceded her in death October of 1999.

Lois was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Metamora, Ohio. She retired from Sears Westgate. Lois enjoyed being a snowbird at Windward Isle, traveling, playing golf, gardening, playing cards, spending time with her many friends, and especially her family. She always made family her top priority by hosting family get togethers, babysitting, and having sleepovers for her great-grandchildren.

Lois will be greatly missed by her children, Stephen (Barb) Bettinger, Joyce (Phil) Felzer and Thomas Bettinger; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Cox, Stacey Felzer, Todd (Lori) Bettinger, Brian (Jenni) Bettinger, Scott Felzer, Chad (Teonna) Felzer, Lauren (Ben) Petitpren, Matt Betz, Marcy (Damian Stento) Betz; 17 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Carole Bergman and Rose Bettinger.

Besides her husband, Karl, Lois was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Bergman and brothers, Donald and Richard Bergman.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 1st from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. Visitation will continue Saturday, April 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Metamora, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Amanda Ghaffarian presiding. Interment will follow at Wolfinger Cemetery.
