Lois M. "Peggy" Vogtsberger

Lois M. "Peggy" Vogtsberger, age 96, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Friday afternoon, June 9, 2017, at the Elizabeth Scott Community in Maumee. She was born October 21, 1920 to the late Harvey and Lena (Arnold) Hagg. She was a graduate of Pemberville High School and graduated from the Toledo School of Nursing in 1941. Peggy served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and was active in WWII from 1942-1946 as a nurse.

After returning from the service, Peggy worked for Owens-Illinois for 5 years, then worked as an industrial nurse for Hunt's for 2 years. After working for Hunt's, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse for Florence Crittenton Home for 4 years. Peggy devoted the majority of her time volunteering at soup kitchens, the Toledo Libraries, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Toledo, where she and her late husband Albert were long-time active members.

Peggy was a patriotic woman who truly loved her family. She was very proud of her grandchildren and cherished time spent with them and her great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jennifer Parker; grandchildren, Allison (Norm) Haley, Jodi (Clay) Campbell, Dennis (Traci) Parker and Mark Parker; great-grandchildren, Victor Haley, Elizabeth Campbell, Lena Haley and James Campbell.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; and son-in-law, Gary Parker.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, June 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631), where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Ed Strietelmeier officiating. Private interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church - Building Fund, 200 Dodge St., Swanton, OH 43558.
