Loren "Larry" Streib, Sr.

Loren “Larry” James Streib, Sr., age 83, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born August 28, 1937 in Maumee, Ohio to Karl and Marie (Veigh) Streib. Larry graduated from Maumee High School in 1955, and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he was an electronic operator. Following the service, he married Ruth Ann Stewart. Larry worked for Terminix, retiring in 1999.

Larry enjoyed working on cars, gardening and listening to the saxophonist, Boots Randolph. Family gatherings were always a joyous time, as he loved spending precious moments with his kids and grandkids. He was also an avid lifelong Ohio State Buckeye’s fan. Saturday afternoons in the fall were some of his favorite times.

Larry is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann; children, Lisa Streib, Loren, Jr. (Shawn) Streib and Lynette (Chris) Miller; grandchildren, Jocelyn Bernard, Jaeger Bernard, Jessica Streib, Shane (Marissa) Streib and Stephanie Streib; Mackenzie Miller, Brooke Miller and Chase Miller; and great-granddaugther, Gracie Kroetz.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Streib.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 14th from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

The angel said my place was ready, in Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all that I dearly loved. But when I walked through Heaven’s Gate, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at the me and said “Welcome Home.”

So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
