Lottie A. Mapes

Lottie A. Mapes, age 96, life-long resident of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center. She was born April 1, 1920 in Swanton to the late Felix and Barbara Mary (Bartkowicz) Fabik. Lottie married Harold “Hap” Mapes on June 30, 1938. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2008.

Lottie worked for Globe-Wernicke in Delta and the Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon. She was a member of the Swanton Alliance Church and enjoyed sewing, embroidery and cooking.

Lottie is survived by her children, Joyce (Loren) Wiles of Whitehouse, OH, Terry (Linda) Mapes of Ashland, OH, Jane Greco of Medina, OH and Linda (Phil) Box of Bradenton, FL; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Mary) Fabik of Milan, OH and sister, Lucille Young of West Covina, CA.

Besides her husband, Harold, Lottie was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Danny Roy Mapes; brother, Harry Fabik and sister, Lily Sadowski.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 28th from 12 p.m. (Noon) to 2:00 p.m. at the Swanton Alliance Church, where funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
