Louise Gormley

June 25, 1922 — January 3, 2018

Louise Gormley, age 95, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home, Wednesday morning, January 3, 2018. She was born June 25, 1922 in Mesilla Park, New Mexico to the late Margaret (Elgin) and Charles A. Cartwright. She was married to Larry Malone for 31 years. She later married Prentiss Gormley who preceded her in death after 20 years of marriage.

Louise was a school teacher and later owned the Malone Insurance Agency in Metamora, where she worked for 27 years. She was a long time member of the Metamora First United Methodist Church and was very active in the community.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Mary Ann (Harry) Hueston of Canyon, TX, Molly (Tom) Hill of Painesville, OH and Sally Simon of Swanton, OH; her son, Michael (Susan) Malone of Petoskey, MI; stepchildren, Sandra Gee (Larry) Dunbar of Metamora, OH, Michael (Colleen) Gormley of Sebring, FL and David (Elizabeth) Gormley of Delta, OH; 11 grandchildren and 21 reat-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her siblings, Sallie Cartwright, Jane Baker, Abel Cartwright and Bert Cartwright; and grandson, Jensen Laszakovits.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6th from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, January 7th at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tyler Kleeberger officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Amboy Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Metamora First United Methodist Church-Barn Project, Metamora Fire Department, Birthright of Lake County, Mentor OH or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation: Saturday, January 6th from 3 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora

Funeral Service: Sunday, January 7th at 9:30 am in the Funeral Home

Interment at a later date: Amboy Township Cemetery
