Margaret A. Hines

Margaret A. Hines, age 88, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully early Wednesday evening, April 5, 2017, at her niece's home in Bryan, Ohio. She was born May 12, 1928 in Clinton Township, Ohio to the late Henry and Ethel (Van'Ness) Roddy. She was a 1946 graduate of Wauseon High School. On February 8, 1951, she married her beloved husband, Gerald "Jerry" Hines, who preceded her in death on December 14, 2013.

Margaret worked for the Fulton County Treasurer's office for 10 years and was a chief deputy at the age of 21. She and her husband owned and operated the Swanton Car Wash for 17-1/2 years, selling the business in 1985. She was also an accomplished seamstress for many years.

Margaret enjoyed looking after her nieces and nephews and joining her friends daily for morning coffee at McDonalds. She also loved spending time at Nettle Lake and Florida for 20 years.

She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Randy Jean (James) Randle, Janet Falor, Barbara (Robert) Falor-Stewart, Michael Dohm, Pam (Randy) Walz, Patricia (Frank) Ringler, Carol (Shane) Leskowyak, Ray Roddy (Sally) and Stacey (Mike) Landwehr; niece-in-law, Carol (Warren) Murphy; 18 great-nieces and nephews; 6 great-great-nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Nancy Faber, Sheri (Alan) Millenbaugh and Janet (Daniel) Wymer.

Besides her husband, Gerald; Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lois (Robert) Falor and Rosetta (Fred) Dohm; and brothers, Randal Roddy and Stanley (Virginia) Roddy.

Family and friends may visit Friday, April 7th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Dan VanArsdalen officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
