Margaret Ann (Robasser) Szabo, passed from this life Tuesday morning, January 17, 2023 at Embassy of Swanton, having attained the “young age” of 102. She was born on April 28, 1920 to Frank and Opal (Fleming) Robasser in rural Swanton. On December 27, 1947, she joined her hand in marriage with Stephen Louis Szabo, Jr., and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2006.
Margaret Ann was a 1938 graduate of Fulton Union High School, AI, Ohio. After high school, she trained as a beautician, but worked at Champion until she married. She then became a homemaker. Margaret Ann had a true love with nature. She and her husband grew large flower and vegetable gardens to enjoy and share with family and neighbors. They were always planting trees and bushes, and had a pond dug on the property, which many of their friends and family enjoyed. The birds in the neighborhood were always well fed. Margaret Ann was an avid magazine reader, subscribing to too many to count. Once she read through them, she would share them with family and friends.
Margaret Ann is survived by her son, Scott (Karen Marvin) Szabo of Swanton, OH; grandsons, Scott J. (Tandy Short) of Archbold, OH and Rob Szabo of Lyons, OH; great-grandchildren, Clayton “C.J.”, Brooklyn and Emersyn; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Szabo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Stephen, Margaret Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Frances.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 23rd from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where services for Margaret Ann will begin at 12:00 (Noon), with Pastor George Shaver officiating. Interment will follow at Fulton Union Cemetery.
