Marsha A. Schmidlin

Marsha A. Schmidlin, age 78, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Franciscan Care Center in Toledo.  She was born December 31, 1940 to Aloysius "Ollie" and Viola (Hubert) Nowak.  On September 9, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald A. Schmidlin.  He preceded her in death October 25, 2009.

Marsha was a 1958 graduate of Rogers High School.  She was blessed to have spent the majority of her life, along with her husband and sons, working on the family farm and in the greenhouse.  Marsha also enjoyed cooking gourmet meals, golfing, fishing on Lake Erie and traveling to Traverse City, Michigan in the fall to see the changing colors.  Most of all, she loved spending time with family and close friends. 

Marsha had a huge heart, and her love and generosity will be deeply missed by her four children, Mike (Connie Miller) Schmidlin, Becky (Howard) Foor, Karen (Thomas) Samek, and Steven (Kristy Hudik) Schmidlin;  grandchildren, Nick Samek, Sarah (Matt) Seigner and Scott Schmidlin, Emerie and Eliana Schmidlin and Sara and Jeff Foor; sister, Sharon Thomas and sisters-in-law, Polly Cross and Patricia (John) Reed.

Besides her husband of 51 years, Ron, Marsha was preceded in death by her  parents Ollie and Viola; grandson, Andrew Samek; father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Marjorie Schmidlin and brothers-in-law, James Cross and Wilbur Thomas.

Our warmest thanks goes out to the staff at the Franciscan Care Center, and the staff at Waterford and Lakes of Sylvania, for the wonderful care they provided our mom.  She truly felt comfortable and at peace there.

Family and friends may visit Saturday, February 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Schmidlin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to a charity of the donor's choice.
