Martha June Meyers

Martha June Meyers, age 88, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Altercare of Nobles Pond in Canton, Ohio, with her loving family at her bedside.  She was born August 18, 1929 in Holland, Ohio to Harriet (Davis) and Harry Butler.  She was a 1949 graduate of Holland High School and married John Culler.  He passed away and she later married Gerald "Carp" Meyers.  He passed away August 30, 2007.

June started out working at A&P, and later as a cook for Hop and Forrest Cooley and at the Copper Kettle.  She also worked as a floral designer for Paul's Flowers in Swanton and retired from Hickie's in Maumee. 

When the kids were growing up, June was a "Bus Captain" on the Happy Day Express at the Swanton Alliance Church.  She was a member of Monclova Road Baptist Church and loved floral gardening.

June will be missed by her children, Connie (Thomas) Howell of Charlotte, NC, Hugh (Louise) Meyers of Stephentown, NY, Buzz Meyers of Toledo, OH and Jane (Ryan) Brown of Massillon, OH; grandchildren, Carleen (Stephen) Maslar of Charlotte, NC, Joseph Thomas "Trey" (Shannon) Howell, III, of Matthews, NC, Mary Lou (Steven) Hunt of Petersburg, NY, Matt (Danyelle) Meyers of Petersburg, NY, Bonnie (James) Merilan of Boston, MA, Renee' (David) Hicks of Massillon, OH; several great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Gloria Hotz, Harry Butler, Lois Meyers, Barbara (Blaine) Grant and Kay (Ronald) Floyd; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her husbands, John and Gerald, June was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Vivian.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, March 15th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631).  Funeral services Celebrating her life will be held Friday, March 16th at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Womack officiating.  Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Swanton Rescue or Meals-On-Wheels of Fulton County.
