Mary Ada Smith

Mary Ada Smith, age 83, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside, Sunday morning, September 20, 2015 at her daughter's home in Whitehouse, Ohio. Mary was born January 18, 1932 in Wauseon, Ohio, to the late Dail and Erma (Fortney) Frazier. On April 30, 1951, she married her beloved husband, Charles Smith. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1985.

Mary was a homemaker and raised eight wonderful children. She loved cheering on her children and grandchildren at various sporting events, and especially enjoyed watching her daughter bowl.

Mary will be greatly missed by her loving children, James (Luann) Smith, Thomas Smith, Linda Smith, Mary "Pip" Smith, Barbara (Tony) Pyles, Kenneth Smith, Albert (Pam) Smith and Joseph (Lisa) Smith; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Richard (Laurell) Frazier.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Michael Dandurand presiding. Interment at St. Richard's Cemetery will be private.

The family extends a special thank you to St. Anne's Hospital Cardiac Care Team and Senior Independence Hospice Care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Senior Independence Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
