Mary Jane Stiles

Mary Jane Stiles, age 75, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Swanton, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 27, 2025, in the comfort of her home, with her loving and devoted daughter, Melanie, at her bedside. Mary was born on April 7, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, to Henry and Dorothy (Wright) Rehman.

Jane attended Swanton High School, where she graduated in 1968, and later pursued her dreams at Owens Community College, earning an Associate's Degree in Education. Her passion for teaching led her to the halls of West Side Montessori School and St. Richard’s Catholic Church of Swanton, where she shaped young minds for over 40 years and nurtured their curiosity and creativity. Her warmth and approachability made learning an exciting adventure for her students, as she instilled in them a love for knowledge that would last a lifetime.

As an aerobic dancing instructor, she shared her enthusiasm for movement and wellness, encouraging her participants to embrace life’s rhythms. Jane's greatest pride came from her family. She poured her heart into every moment spent with her daughter, Melanie Stiles, and cherished the time she dedicated to her grandchildren and great-grandsons as they grew up. Her legacy is one of warmth, affection, and unwavering love.

Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Melanie Anne ; her brother, Robert Rehman; and sister, Lynn (Ron) Distel. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Stiles, and sister-in-law, Penny Rehman.
