Maurice G. "Butch" Arnold, Sr

Maurice G. "Butch" Arnold, Sr., age 67, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, August 20, 2016, at Swanton Valley Care & Rehabilitation. He was born June 12,1949 in Palmyra, Michigan to Harold and Marjorie (Stumph) Arnold. Butch married Jeanne Wise on June 28, 1968, and she preceded him in death in August of 1999.

Butch worked for Reichert Stamping for 28 years and worked as a mechanic for Walmart from 2006-2012. Butch was an avid Nascar fan who enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Christine (Joel) Bland and LuAnn Arnold; son, Maurice G. (Velvet) Arnold, Jr.; grandchildren, Brittnay (Jehu) Fierros, Tiffany (Jake) Sample, Stephanie Darah, Jenny Darah, Megan (Justin) Sadowski, Bryan Hyatt, Jessica Hyatt, Jacob Arnold and Asia Arnold; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Everett Arnold, JoAnn Greenlee, Charlene McKnight (Charles), Carolyn Welsh and Martha Simon.

Besides his wife Jeanne, Butch was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chester, Harold Eugene Arnold; and sister, Barbara Peabody and Phyllis Peabody.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, August 23rd from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.

A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Swanton Valley Care and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Butch over the past few months of his life.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
