Maurice E. Oliver, age 84, of Delta, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 12:58 pm at Defiance Hospice Inpatient Unit. He was born June 21, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Rene and Emma Oliver. Maurice was a United States WWII Army/Air Force veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre. He spent over 4 years in Army and VA Hospitals. He was a member of Catholic War Veterans Post #306 in Assumption, Lyons VFW Post #7574, Swanton American Legion Post #479 and DAV Post #78. He also was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Assumption.

Maurice is survived by his brother, Norman (Millie) Oliver and sister, Eleanor (Raymond) Weaver and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, April 2nd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Dennis Metzger will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery with military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church.
