Mona G. Rowley

Mona Gay Rowley, age 85, of Swanton, Ohio died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born March 22, 1932 in Albany KY, and was the proud adopted daughter of the late Clyde William and Elsie Belle (Crossland) Babcock.

Following graduation from Swanton High School, Mona attended University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She then went on to enjoy a long and rewarding career as a Dental Hygienist.

Mona was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mona enjoyed spending time with her family. Her passions included, gardening, reading, playing bridge, shopping, book club, traveling and laughing with friends over lunch and dinner. She especially cherished the time she spent with her four grandsons.

She is the proud mother of, Cam W. (Christine) Rowley of Dalton, Ohio, Gregory L. Rowley (Jay Levin) of Swanton Ohio and daughter, Renee C. (Dwight) Emerich of Lincoln Park, New Jersey. She is survived by her beloved grandsons, Belden Robert (Li’) Rowley, Connor William Rowley (USMC), Zachariah Cam (Kelsey) Rowley, Zaylor Lee Rowley and great grandson Parker Bartholomew Rowley. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Thielan and brother, James Wayne Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Robert C. Rowley. The family will be forever grateful to the devoted staff of caregivers at Ohio Living Swan Creek Memory Enhancement Center and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 North Main Street in Swanton, OH, where friends may visit one hour prior (10:00 a.m.) to the service in the church parlor. Rev. J. T. Bean will officiate. A private interment at Dutch Ridge Cemetery will be arranged at a later date.
