Noreen K. Graves of Swanton, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home Sunday afternoon, June 21st 2026.
Noreen was born December 31st 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Leo R. Potter and Hazel (Hall) Potter.
Noreen is survived by Wayne L. Graves her husband of 55 years. Son James and daughter-in-law Melissa (Beggs) Graves of Burton, MI and Daughter Jayne Graves Cichon of Essex, Ontario. She is also survived by her Grandson Alexander Graves and Granddaughter Neleh Cichon and Great Grandson Noah Graves and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Noreen grew up in Waterville and Whitehouse, Ohio and was a 1964 graduate of Anthony Wayne Senior High School. Noreen and a Wayne married July 24, 1971.
Wayne's career resulted in many relocations around the country therefore frequently impacting Noreen's work experience. Noreen held various administrative positions over the years.
During their marriage the family lived in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana. After retirement Noreen and Wayne lived in Bowling Green, Ohio and now reside in Swanton, Ohio. Noreen provided a structure for their lives.
Wayne considered her to be a Secretary of the Interior, Treasury and Homeland Security. The family considered her the Queen.
Noreen was the consummate wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed dressmaking, counted cross-stitch, and was an avid baker. She was a lifetime member of the profit and pleasure women's club of Waterville where she served in each executive office.
She often entered bake goods and teacup displays in the Wood County Fair. She was especially proud when her teacup display won Best in Show.
Noreen was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Beverly (Becky) Jacobs.
The family extends special thanks to Carla L Graves, Dr. Mohammad El Sayyad and his staff for their Care over the last several weeks.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 26th from 3 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services celebrating Noreen's life will be held Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 am in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucky Fin Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
