Norman Engel

Norman Engel, age 83 of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning,July 2, 2015 at Heartland of Waterville. He was born February 22, 1932 in Defiance, Ohio to Emeray and Virginia (Trask) Engel. Norman served as an Airman with the United States Air Force.

Norman retired from GM Powertrain and was a member of UAW Local 14. He enjoyed fishing and watching television.

Norman is survived by his sons, Norman Engel, Jr. of Swanton, OH, Edward (Holly) Engel of Oregon, OH and John (Chris) Engel of Wauseon, OH; siblings Darrell (Evelyn) Engel, William "Bill" (Angie) Engel, Howard (Velva) Engel; Nona (Hank) Barney and Dolores Grycza; as well as nieces,nephews and grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Deborah Kellermeier and Roberta Sue Engel; and sister, Geraldine Ashfellower.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7th from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Ed Strietelmeier officiating. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard Catholic Church, 333 Brookside Dr., Swanton, OH 43558.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 7th from 3-5 and 6-8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton

Funeral Service: Wednesday, July 8th at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home

Interment: East Swanton Cemetery
